The Board of Directors at its December 07 meeting voted to join Touchstone Energy.  This means that BARC has joined over 600 cooperatives in 44 states that collectively deliver power and energy solutions to more than 16 million customers every day.  The program communicates the unique qualities of cooperatives to business and residential customers, reinforcing the dedication that co-ops have to serving member-owners with integrity, accountability, innovation and commitment to community.

BARC is working with Futura Systems, Inc. of Tucker , Georgia to create a modern electric utility outage management system for the benefit of the BARC membership.  This system will integrate industry standard engineering and mapping software from ESRI , outage management software from Milsoft Utility Solutions, Inc. , and BARC’s automatic meter reading system to create an outage management system that will give our dispatchers and outage managers the tools to locate outages quickly on a live, computerized electronic map of the BARC power system.
