Pay your bill on-line using a credit card. Requires your account number and setting up on-line access. Policy for unpaid bills.
BARC Electric Cooperative is in the business of keeping the lights on. There are times however that some folks either forget to pay thier bill or, due to unusual circumstances, are not able to pay their bill. We are willing to work with anyone up to the limits of the policy set by our Board of Directors, so give us a call when you run into trouble. BARC implemented cycle billing in 2005 which means we send out bills once per week or four times per month. Your bill date should be the same each month plus or minus 2 days due to weekends and holidays. Your due date is set 2 to 3 days prior to your next billing date which leaves approximately 27 to 28 days to get your payment in. If you are not able to get your payment in by the next billing date a delinquent notice is automatically printed and sent out the next day. Approximately 11 days after that a disconnect notice is printed and you will be paid a visit by one of our servicemen. Again we are here to work with you so please give us a call to avoid the above happening. Some items to note are that a penalty is applied if payment is not received prior to the due date. Also a $25 service charge is applied any time it is necessary for a serviceman to visit your location to collect, disconnect or reconnect your electric service. A $25 service charge is also applied if the serviceman is asked to pick up a payment at a location other than your home. In the unfortunate situation where someones lights are disconnected for non payment they are required to pay the full amount due including any of the above service charges plus their current bill. The after hours service charge which is applied anytime someone calls in after 3:00 p.m. to have their lights reconnected is $85. A security deposit may also be applied. It is also BARC's policy not to reconnect after 9:00 p.m. so the call for a reconnect must be received prior to this time. BARC offers, for your convenience, automatic draft on checking or savings accounts, and on credit cards. You can also call in and make a payment using a credit card (Visa or MasterCard). We also accept checks or cash at the window here in Millboro and checks through the mail.
